Farewell Auckland

Land of the Long White Cloud...and also the only country in the world that is not against the law to talk on the phone while you drive. This was the last memory i had in Auckland. Korean dinner with my colleagues.... I bid you guys farewell and all the best!

I'll be BACK for MORE!

.
FINALLY! I made the jump. I must admit that standing over the edge was scarier than the jump itself and 40 meters wasn't as exciting as i would expect it to be :) Maybe it's because i was jumping over the sea... if it was LAND, now that's another story! SO, was it an adrenalin rush? OF COURSE! Will i ever do it again?? DEFINITELY! Next time, I'll jump the 134 meters Nevis Highwire Bungy!

Bungy Postphoned...

Well, made our way there just in time to find that the jump today has been cancelled due to the windy weather... Another day and time then!

Jumping off Harbour Bridge!!!

In about 9 hours time, i'll be jumping off the Harbour bridge... FOR REAL! Bungy jumping off the bridge..... Bought my ticket today to make sure i go through with it tomorrow.....just so i dont 'chicken out' or have the sudden change my mind....haha. GULP! Now for some mental prep! i can do tis... i can do tis!

FYI...

BUNGY STATS:
Bungy: 40 metres

Famous for:
New Zealand's only harbour bridge Bungy
Variety of Bungy methods
Water touch option! Should I???
The fastest way of getting to see Waitamata Harbour

Duration: 1 1/2 hours.... it think that the jump will only take a few SECONDS... it's the walk up to the jump that seems the longest!

THE RUMOUR MILL:
12 people have dropped their cell phones in the harbour while attempting to talk 'business' and Bungy at the same time.....
haha
Bungy price includes the genuine Bungy T-shirt ... probably 'made in China'...haha

Age: Minimum = 10 years..... PASS!

Weight: Minimum = 35kg, Maximum = 150kg.... PASS!

Height: Minimum = 115cm......PASS!

....ALRIGHTY then, guess there's nothing stopping me from taking the leap!... I'M SO EXCITED right now! can't wait can't wait...it'll be an experience to remember.

Chew! you've got to read the instructions properly!!! 'Do not use if you have taken paracetamol' laaa... oh, SHIT... how did i not see that! but they didn't mention anything about panadol also... and if they are paracetamol, they should have called it paracetamol! i've keyed in 'panadol' in Wikipedia and guess what came out? 'PARACETAMOL'... but, everybody knows that right? THEY SHOULD HAVE BOLDED IT! Haha, apparently, my vision is too blur already... can't stop sneezing! aaaah...

My medication for my 'first' flu caught here... started off with a sore throat, then the running nose and now the cough! Better stay in.. i'm sure the guys in the switching room can manage without me...

Some words from my Grandpa...

...to his 8 children, 8 children in-law, 18 grandchildren, 4 grandchildren in-law and 2 great grandchildren!

When I am Old

When I am old and no longer the one I used to be,
Please understand and be patient with me.

When I spill food on my clothes,
When I forget how to tie my shoes,
Please remember how I had once held your hands and taught you.

When I repeat over and over again words that bored you stiff,
Please be patient and listen and do not cut me off.
When you were little, I had to tell you the same story that had been told
thousands of time until you drifted to sleep.

When I need you to help me take a bath,
Please don't get mad at me.
Do you remember how many ways I had to think in order to coax you
into taking a bath when you were young?

When I am at a loss with new technology,Please don't laugh at me
Just think about how I had patiently answered your every
"Why is that so?"

When my legs are tired and I am too frail to walk,
Please extend your youthful and strong hands to hold me,
Just like the way I had held you when you learned how to walk.

When I forget the subject of our conversation,
Please give me a little time to recall,
Actually, what we discuss is not important,
AS LONG AS YOU ARE WILLING TO LISTEN,
I am happy.

When you see me grow old, don't be sad.
Understand me,
Support me,
Just like the way I treated you when you began to learn how to live.

I had led you to the path of living but now
please accompany me to walk through life's last journey.
Give me your love and patience and I will return with an appreciative smile;
and in this smile is all the boundless love I have for you.

Took a free shuttle from Sky Tower to the fish market at the Harbour... the weather wasn't ideal... it rained after i got there. Bought something nice to eat and left for Queens Street... that's the main street in the city. Went back after buying some sourvenirs... it continued to drizzle till the evening....better stay home where it' s warm and cozy :)

Dont know why i felt compelled to attach this photo in. They are HUGE! Well fed and well groomed. They look like kites floating in the sky.... just hovering around while looking for food.

...Movenpick Ice Cream!

Business is good this chilly afternoon... had to queue for sometime before making one of the toughest decision ever! Which flavor to choose? Didn't had much time to decide so i went for the Lemon and Lime... and and.. . Maple Walnut.. please? Bad choice... like i said, toughest choice i've ever made!

Sun Sea Sand and....

Marina bay is about 20 minutes drive from the city.. Anthony (local BSS engineer) was kind enough to bring us there to enjoy this sunny yet cold day... it's about 18 degrees and it's really cold when the wind blows...

Soaking up the sun rays...

Apart from the 'rally' in town, it's yet another beautiful day in Auckland. Walked across the city to the harbour... stopped by a few sourvenir shops to have a look see.... :) Met the rest in front of Hilton hotel by the harbour. Really sunny day today!

Peaceful rally at midtown...

Well, they've managed to organised a peaceful protest rally against the military regime in Burma and also for the release of Suu Kyi... all they way in New Zealand. Hopefully they will be able to achieve their objectives and raise awareness.

Wonder...

Wonderful World - James Morrison

I’ve been down so lowPeople look at me and they knowThey can tell something is wrongLike I don’t belong
Staring through a windowStanding outside, they’re just too happy to care tonightI want to be like themBut I’ll mess it up again
I tripped on my way inAnd got kicked outside, everybody saw…

And I know that it's a wonderful world
But I can't feel it right now
Well I thought that I was doing well
But I just want to cry now
Well I know that it's a wonderful world
From the sky down to the sea
But I can only see it when you're here, here with me
Sometimes I feel so full of loveIt just comes spilling outIt’s uncomfortable to seeI give it away so easilyBut if I had someone I would do anythingI’d never, never, ever let you feel aloneI won’t I won’t leave you, on your own
But who am I to dream?Dreams are for fools, they let you down…
And I know that it’s a wonderful worldBut I can’t feel it right nowWell I thought that I was doing wellBut I just want to cry nowWell I know that it’s a wonderful worldFrom the sky down to the seaBut I can only see it when you’re here, here with me
And I wish that I could make it betterI’d give anything for you to call me, or maybe just a little letterOh, we could start again
And I know that it’s a wonderful worldBut I can’t feel it right nowWell I thought that I was doing wellBut I just want to cry nowWell I know that it’s a wonderful worldFrom the sky down to the seaBut I can only see it when you’re here, here with me
And I know that it’s a wonderful worldI can’t feel it right nowI got all the right clothes to wearI just want to cry nowWell I know that it’s a wonderful worldFrom the sky down to the seaBut I can only see it when you’re here, here with me
And I know that it’s a wonderful worldWhen you’re with me

Drinks by the habour....

It's a cold full moon night tonight.... having some drinks at the harbour was just what we needed to do. Had a great time....just chatting, drinking and having some snacks.
